Texas Southern University’s Tiger Market provides students with resources for academic, personal, and social services.
“The purpose of the Tiger Market is to serve as a resource for students” Diversity and Inclusion Initiative Coordinator Shareen Nicholson said. “We provide food, professional attire, and resources for students who may need a little bit extra.”
The Tiger Market was created by the Division of Student Services to address the immediate needs of students.
“I got into diversity and inclusion effort work and fell in love with it and making sure that students are prepared for life after TSU,” said Nicholson, “College is so much more than just what goes on in the classroom.”
The Tiger Market is located in suite 130 of the Lanier West Residence Hall, and is kept afloat by donations from TSU alumni, and the surrounding Houston area.
Items needed are professional clothing, canned goods, dry storage food, and personal hygiene products.
