The School of Communication prepared me for this opportunity by getting me out of my shell. Without the School of Communication, I wouldn’t be who I am today.

The contestants, all students who actively contribute to the university and student body, were accompanied by former Mister TSU Taylor Getwood and TSU alumna and KHOU 11 reporter Katiera Winfrey, who hosted the evening.

The pageant comprised four main categories: Tiger spirit wear, talent competition, formal wear, and an impromptu question and answer segment.

The judging panel consisted of TSU faculty and alumni who evaluated the contestants based on their performances, stage presence, and impact on the audience.

Students who attended the pageant expressed pride in their peers’ bravery.

I am proud of everybody that went up there; it’s not easy to get up there in front of your peers and try to represent the whole school; they did their big one; I’m proud of them.
