Hot girl, Megan Thee Stallion, just dropped her new single, Body, from her debut studio produced album Good News, on YouTube as thousands of fans tuned in Thursday at midnight. Taraji P. Henson and Black Chyna made cameo appearances.

The album features 17 tracks including one titled Shots Fired, which takes aim at Tory Lanez, the Canadian born rapper, who has been charged by the Los Angeles County District Attorney with shooting her in both feet on July 12 after an argument between the two.

Through his attorney, Lanez plead not guilty in an L.A. County courtroom November 18 of shooting Megan, whose last name is Pete.

However, Pete said in an August 20 Instagram post that Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, shot her.

“…Tory shot me. You shot me and you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs lying,” Megan said. “Stop lying. Why lie? I don’t understand.  I tried to keep the situation off the internet, but you dragging it.”

The album is so much more than that one track.  It is an anthem for women empowerment and self-reflection, the Savage  rapper said in the YouTube premiere of Body.

“You’re gonna see all body shapes,” the Houston native said.  “Just a lot of strong women doing their dam thing; just being confident owning their bodies and their sexuality.”

Pete penned a letter about the Lanez incident and why she advocates for Black women in the New York Times recently.

“After a lot of self-reflection on that incident, I’ve realized that violence against women is not always connected to being in a relationship. Instead, it happens because too many men treat all women as objects, which helps them to justify inflicting abuse against us when we choose to exercise our own free will,” Pete wrote in the New York Times.

Pete said that she hopes the album will lift spirits in light of the difficulty many people have faced due to the pandemic.

I hope that they love it as much as I do,” Pete said.

She added: “The is the first project that I have ever called an album.  I like to keep the Hotties surprise, but what I will say is that they definitely will be shocked.”

Other collaborators on the album include Beyonce, DaBaby, City Girls, Lil Durk, SZA, Big Sean, 2 Chainz and Popcaan.
