SOC to hold a virtual graduation watch party on Sunday

Texas Southern University School of Communication graduating seniors are being invited to join the School’s Virtual Graduation Watch Party scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 22 at noon. Just click the following link here.
Graduates wear your caps and gowns to celebrate this major milestone. SOC’s graduation ceremony will begin at 12:30p.m. The University changed the Winter Commencement to all virtual due to the rising cases of coronavirus in Harris County.
The county currently has an alert level of one, which recommends that citizens leave home for necessities only and avoid crowds.
TSU President Kenneth Huewitt said that the University is committed to fighting COVID-19.
“As partners in the fight against COVID-19, we join our city, county, and congressional leaders in encouraging testing and safe health practices,” Huewitt said. “We join you in the disappointment of not having the in-person component of graduation.”
President Huewitt said the virtual ceremonies will be memorable.
“We look forward to celebrating with you and your families and friends as we see your names and messages on the big screen. Please note that ceremony times and speakers will remain the same for schools and colleges.”
